Oxford was my service dog, best friend, working dog, dog analyst and helped rehab countless dogs. This business remains in honour and legacy of him.

It all began with a puppy that chose me

I met Oxford when he was just a puppy. Oxford chose me by crawling into my lap and refusing to leave, this is how our journey began! Oxford was a very high energy, “drivey” dog which expanded my knowledge in dog behaviour and training as he was opinionated, edgy, reactive and excessively high energy. Despite these challenges he was my service dog, best friend, working dog, dog analyst and helped rehab countless dogs. Unfortunately, Oxford unexpectedly passed away in 2023 and this business remains in his honour and legacy. Oxford was also the reason I started my first business Tails On Trails Guelph in February, 2021.

As a dog walker, dog trainer and horse/dog owner, I had purchased countless bags of treats. This left me wondering where these animals treats were sourced from and how these animals were treated. Additionally, I knew that the packaging was simply adding to our landfills which I found concerning. Reducing waste, sourcing products from ethically raised animals and providing single ingredient, nutrient dense treats has always been important to me and here’s how I am honouring these values:

  • Our packaging is recyclable

  • Products are freeze dried or dehydrated in small batches without preservatives

  • I am currently connecting and sourcing from small, local farmers. Their animals are raised with love and respect on beautiful pastures. I will be focusing on sourcing products from these farmers

  • Reducing animal waste product

  • I believe it is important to give back and will be donating to charity
